
Hidden Figures
This seminar course explores the possibilities of digital tools such as Zbrush, Photoshop, and Rhino to transform the Disney character Donald Duck, into a new amorphous bust which will be physically constructed using a 6 axis mill and then coated with generated textures through 3D layering of ink.
In the second portion of the course, a physical production of a 3'x3' foam bust of Donald was produced. In preparation for this model, smaller study iterations of the final product were 3D printed.
Our design concept and "theme" for the project was consumerism and branding as 'identity' especially in the modern era of architecture. This inspired the literal branding of Donald's facade and the final rendering artwork produced for the presentation seen below.
